Set up widgets in your stream
You need streaming software with browser sources, such as OBS Studio or Streamlabs Desktop. Paste the widget link as the URL; the dashboard controls the content and appearance.
01 Design your widget
Create a widget in the dashboard, choose a template and customise the colours and content. The preview shows your changes immediately. “Save” applies them to your browser sources.
02 Add a browser source
- Click “Copy widget link” on your widget.
- Add a browser source in your streaming software.
- Name the source and paste the full link into “URL”.
- Use the width and height shown in the widget preview. Start with 30 FPS.
The background is already transparent. Keep the link private: it grants access to this widget's output.

03 Set up audio and scenes
For alert boxes, check the volume and whether the sound reaches your stream. Reuse the same source in other scenes so an alert does not play audio multiple times.
Audio and scenes in OBS Studio
Enable “Control audio via OBS”. Check the mixer and “Advanced Audio Properties” to make sure the audio is on your stream track.
Disable “Shutdown source when not visible” and “Refresh browser when scene becomes active” to keep the source connected when switching scenes.
Test and control
“Test preview” stays in the dashboard. “Live test” sends the selected alert to open sources using the saved settings. Start, pause and counter buttons change your widget directly.
After a brief disconnection, alerts up to 60 seconds old may be delivered. After a full reload, only new alerts appear. Countdowns keep their state.
Live controls and events
In Live controls you can control your widgets on one page. Connection status counts open browser sources; it does not confirm that a source is currently visible on stream.
Use “Select widgets” to show or hide cards, then confirm with “Apply selection”. In “Arrange”, move cards by their handles and drag a corner to resize them. “Done” saves the layout. On a phone, change the order using each card's menu.
Hidden widgets keep running. Text is published only when you click “Apply live”. Events shows the last 24 hours, including live tests. Choose an alert box there and click “Replay live” to trigger an alert again with its saved design. Preview tests do not appear here.
Control the new widgets
Goals change with plus, minus or a value you enter. Change the target in the editor. Follows and subscriptions are not counted automatically yet.
Rotation switches between text and images at the saved interval. “Now” shows the current content and remaining time. The next entries appear below. Use “Next” or click an entry to switch immediately. Pausing holds the current entry.
For challenges, mark tasks as active or completed. For tasks with multiple steps, enable “Count progress” in the editor and set a target. Plus, minus or clicking the number changes progress. Reaching the target completes the task; a lower value reopens it.
In the scoreboard, plus, minus and direct number entry change each team's score. “Next round” saves the current scores and starts a new round at 0. The back arrow or “Saved rounds” loads an earlier result; moving forward also preserves rounds already played. “Reset all” deletes round history after confirmation.
The stopwatch counts from zero and keeps its state when reloaded. Switching between countdown and stopwatch resets time only when you save.
Chat highlights
Under Connections grant the additional Twitch chat permission once. In the chat widget, select a message with “Show”. Only this selection appears in the browser source; preview examples stay local.
The inbox shows up to 100 messages from the last ten minutes. “Latest messages” jumps to the end. Deleted messages, timeouts and cleared chat also remove affected highlights. “Hide” removes your selection immediately.
Copies and drafts
“Duplicate” in the widget overview copies the saved design and media. The copy gets its own link; countdowns are paused and counters use their starting value.
Unsaved changes remain recoverable in this browser for up to seven days. Only “Save” changes the output. “Discard draft” and signing out remove the local draft.
If something does not appear
- Check that you pasted the full link, including the part after
#. - After “Renew widget link”, replace the address in your browser sources.
- For Twitch alerts, check the channel status under “Connections” and the event settings.
- A suspended or deleted account cannot display widgets.
